Teacher of the Year Awards Presented

The Lockwood R-1 School District has announced its Teachers of the Year for the 2009-2010 school year.  For the elementary/middle school, the award went to Kari Glenn and for the high school, the award went to Carolyn Carrier.  They received their awards at the end-of-year luncheon on May 21 along with a gift from the local Community Teacher’s Association.

Miss Glenn is the pre-school teacher and director.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary/Early Childhood in 2004 and is currently working toward her Master’s degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar.  She has been teaching for five years, all in the Lockwood School District.

Mrs. Carrier is the Family and Consumer Science Teacher and FCCLA Advisor along with being the senior class sponsor.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri State University in 1971 and has been teaching for 14 years, eleven of which have been at Lockwood.  Carolyn is married to David and they have two sons, Harry and Chuck.  She has six grandchildren: Eric, Troy, Grace, William, Isaac, and Toni.  She has also had five of her six grandchildren in class.
