Lockwood Opening
School has opened at Lockwood R-1 for the 2010-11 school year. Enrollment at the opening is 351 with 119 being the high school enrollment and 232 at the Elementary and Middle School. Grade enrollment is as follows:
Elementary: K- (20), 1-(24), 2-(27), 3-(20), 4-(29), 5-(35) = total 155
Middle: 6th-25, 7th-34, 8th-18 for a total of 77
High School: 9th-33, 10th-36, 11th-19 and 12th- 31 = total 119.
Total Enrollment: 351
Only two new teachers joined the staff at Lockwood. Larry Stuart will be High School Science and Jamie Burditt will be the new Vocal and Instrumental Teacher. Mrs. Kristi Marion is the new Elementary/Middle School Principal and Mrs. Michelle Jones is the new Elementary Counselor. Mrs. Carmen Coose moves from Science to High School Counselor. Mrs. Cossins is moving back into the classroom from Title I and will be in second grade.
Please check the district web site for news and information concerning this coming school year. During the year we will have several departments and activities that will be heard from concerning what is going on at school.
A big thanks goes out to all of our staff for their efforts in preparation for the upcoming year. A special thanks goes to our custodial staff, headed by Leon Patterson, for the great job they did in completing summer projects and getting the buildings ready.
