Community Service Projects at LEMS

At the beginning of the school year, Lockwood Elementary and Middle School (LEMS) students developed service projects to benefit our school and community.  Each class, 4th grade through 8th grade, voted on a student-developed project to implement throughout the 2011-2012 school year.  The following is a list of the student-developed projects.

• 4th grade – Develop posters to display in the community related to acceptance and community service.
• 5th grade – Collect pop-tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks.
• 6th grade – Clean local playground equipment.
• 7th grade – Develop care packages for local service men and women.
• 8th grade – Plant trees and flowers at LEMS.

Students also recognized the need to recycle paper at LEMS.  Thus, all classes will contribute to the newly-established paper recycling efforts at the elementary and middle school.

If you have any questions regarding the project, please call Mrs. Lasater at 232-4528.
