Summer school has become very expensive to offer in our school district. Because of the financial burden it would put on the district, the Lockwood R-1 School Board has voted not to offer summer school in the summer of 2018. We want to give teachers and the community as much time as possible to make necessary arrangements.
Due to missing school on September 26, we will have a makeup day on October 19. Originally, we were supposed to be out all day with parent teacher conferences. We will still have parent teacher conferences beginning at 2:00 pm and run until 7:00 pm. School will dismiss at 12:45 on this day, Thursday, October 19. There will be no school on Friday, October 20.

Book club meeting this morning in the high school!
High school pictures have been moved to Friday this week. Forms will be sent home tomorrow.
Just a reminder that picture day is Wednesday of this week! Extra forms can be picked up in the office.

The high school volleyball game for Tuesday has been moved to Wednesday.
On Sunday, September 17, tragedy struck the Lockwood School and Community when one of our students, Ben Friend, was fatally wounded in an ATV accident. On Tuesday, September 26, 2017 there will be no school as we will be hosting a visitation and funeral service for Ben in the high school gymnasium. Visitation will start at 1:00 pm and the funeral will follow at 2:30 pm.
Reminder: there will be no school Monday, September 25th.
The Fresh Homecoming of Lockwood is tonight! Coronation is at halftime and kickoff is at 7! The Junior class will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, nachos, frito pies and more!
The football team still has fundraiser cards for sale. To purchase one contact Coach Rader or stop by the high school!

Students and staff met yesterday morning to pray for fellow classmate, Ben. Thank you Wayne West for leading. Keep fighting Ben, we love you!
