Have you ever gotten to touch a real brain before?! Our students have! (Don’t worry, no student brains were harmed in this process; it was a sheep brain from the animal byproduct industry.) Erica Eggerman, from the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience, engaged our 4th-6th graders as she taught us all about brains and how she uses fruit flies to learn more about the human brain!

The Lockwood Student Council is putting on another talent show for the community members! This is open to all students. The talent show will be on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 6:00 pm. This will take place in the High school gymnasium. It does not cost anything for an act to enter into the talent show. There will be a monetary prize for 1st place and awards for 2nd and 3rd place. Any student who wishes to compete in this event must fill out the sheet and return it, with parent consent, by Tuesday, April 22, 2024. All acts will be contacted by Mr. Bruce leading up to the show with times of performance and specifics. This will be the second year of doing this and it is only going to get bigger and better! The Lockwood Student Council would like to thank you for supporting us!

Here are some upcoming elementary events. Please note the concert is now Thursday, May 9. The junior high and high school concert is now Friday, May 10.
